The handover between drilling and production is where completions are won or lost. NEXA Energy and Support Services delivers engineered wellbore clean-up for onshore, offshore and deepwater wells across Nigeria, leaving you with clean casing, clear brine and protected completions.

One Engineered Displacement Programme

We combine mechanical and chemical workstreams in a single programme designed for your casing configuration, mud system and completion fluid. The result is one plan, one accountable supervisor and one set of acceptance criteria.

Mechanical Clean-Out

We run clean-out tools to remove debris from the casing wall:

  • Casing scrapers remove mud cake and cement sheath
  • Brushes scour residual solids from the casing ID
  • Magnets collect metal swarf and ferrous debris
  • Junk baskets capture loose junk ahead of completion

Chemical Displacement

An engineered spacer and pill train displaces the drilling fluid and leaves the casing water-wet, ready for completion brine:

  • Push pills to lead the displacement
  • Surfactant spacers to strip oil or synthetic based films and water-wet the casing
  • Viscous spacers to sweep solids and maintain interface separation

Designed and Supervised On Site

NEXA engineers design the programme, including pill volumes, sequence, pump rates and returns criteria. They then supervise execution at the wellsite until returns meet specification.

Part of the Spud-to-Handover Package

Wellbore clean-up connects directly to drilling fluids engineering and completion fluid filtration. When one contractor manages all three, the displacement is designed around the actual mud in the hole and the brine is filtered to spec as it goes in.

Common Questions, Straight Answers

Residual mud cake, cement debris, metal swarf and solids left in the casing can contaminate completion brine and damage completion equipment and the reservoir. Clean-up removes them before handover.

Mechanical clean-out with casing scrapers, brushes, magnets and junk baskets, combined with a chemical displacement train of push pills, surfactant and viscous spacers, designed and supervised on site.
