NEXA Energy and Support Services Limited is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, clients and communities while minimising our impact on the environment.
We recognise that responsible Health, Safety and Environmental management is fundamental to the successful delivery of our upstream oil and gas services.
Accordingly, HSE considerations shall be integrated into our business planning, project execution, procurement, operations and decision-making processes.
Our Policy Commitments
1. Protection of People
We shall provide safe working conditions and take reasonable measures to prevent injuries, occupational illness and incidents.
2. Environmental Responsibility
We shall seek to prevent pollution, minimise environmental impacts and manage waste and emissions responsibly.
3. Risk Management
Hazards shall be identified, assessed and controlled using appropriate risk management processes before and during work activities.
4. Competence & Training
Personnel shall receive appropriate information, instruction, training and competency assessment relevant to their responsibilities.
5. Legal & Regulatory Compliance
We shall comply with applicable Nigerian legislation, regulatory requirements, client requirements and relevant industry standards.
6. Continuous Improvement
HSE performance shall be monitored, reviewed and improved through audits, inspections, reporting, investigations and lessons learned.
Management Responsibilities
Management is responsible for providing the leadership, resources and systems required to implement this policy effectively.
Managers and supervisors shall ensure that work is properly planned, risks are assessed and appropriate controls are implemented.
Employee & Contractor Responsibilities
Every employee and contractor working on behalf of NEXA has a responsibility to work safely, follow established procedures, use required protective equipment, report hazards and incidents, and actively contribute to improving HSE performance.
Stop Work Authority
Personnel are expected to raise concerns and stop or suspend work where they reasonably believe that an activity presents an unacceptable risk to people, assets or the environment.
Policy Review
This policy shall be reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains appropriate to NEXA's activities, operational risks, legal requirements and strategic objectives.
